4月18日，美国总统奥巴马第二次出访湖外第一所国际姊妹院校---俄亥俄劳伦学院，并在劳伦学院会议大厅作了一场主题为“高校与地方经济关系”的讲座。奥巴马总统十分关心高校就学生就业问题。他提出，政府应加大对教育的投资，培养高素质人才更好服务地方经济，或拓宽投资项目增加就业市场等观点，并在场解答与失业人员提出的问题。热情洋溢的掌声此起彼伏，整场讲座在热烈的气氛中结束。
