HCFS Faculty and Students Serve as Linguistic Bridge at China-Morocco Economic and Trade Event

Changsha, December, 2025 – Faculty and students from Hunan College of Foreign Studies (HCFS) provided crucial linguistic and logistical support for the successful conclusion of the China (Hunan)-Morocco Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Event. The high-level forum was jointly organized by the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in China, and the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Management Committee.

Under the guidance of instructor Xie Nan from the School of Western Languages, a team of six Applied French majors offered comprehensive interpretation and conference assistance. Their expertise ensured seamless communication between over 150 Moroccan business delegates and their Chinese counterparts from diverse industries and government bodies.

Ms. Xie, leveraging her professional proficiency, delivered precise translations during key business matching sessions, particularly in engineering and building materials, receiving consistent acclaim from participants. The student volunteers, having undergone rigorous pre-event training, demonstrated exceptional practical skills in facilitating dialogue and networking throughout the event.

This initiative provided students with invaluable real-world experience, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge in a live international business environment. It exemplifies HCFS's commitment to its “Vocationalization, Marketization, and Internationalization” ethos, equipping students with global perspectives and practical competencies to contribute to regional development and China's opening-up.
